LEGAL MIXER – QUIET ROOM BOOKING POLICY (2026)

The Quiet Room is a one-to-one mentoring and career development service offered by Legal Mixer for law students, graduates and junior legal professionals. By booking or attending a Quiet Room consultation, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy.

1. Code of Conduct

1.1 Mentor Standards of Conduct

1.1.1 Mentors must conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and supportive manner at all times.

1.1.2 Mentors must maintain the confidentiality of information shared during sessions, except where disclosure is required by law.

1.1.3 Mentors must not provide legal advice, legal representation, or opinions tailored to any specific legal matter, dispute or set of facts.

1.1.4 Mentors must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and act consistently with Legal Mixer’s values and objectives.

1.2 Mentee Standards of Conduct

1.2.1 Mentees must engage with mentors in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

1.2.2 Mentees must attend sessions on time and adequately prepared.

1.2.3 Mentees must not request or attempt to obtain legal advice, case-specific opinions or confidential assessments of legal matters.

1.2.4 Mentees must comply with all booking, cancellation and rescheduling requirements set out in this Policy.

1.2.5 Mentees must behave in a manner appropriate to a professional learning and mentoring environment.

1.3 Zero-Tolerance Behaviour

1.3.1 Legal Mixer reserves the right to cancel or refuse a booking without refund where a participant engages in harassment, discrimination, aggressive conduct or any other inappropriate behaviour.

1.3.2 Legal Mixer may also refuse service where there is misuse of the platform or repeated attempts to obtain legal advice in breach of this Policy.

2. No Expectation or Guarantee of Outcomes

2.1 Quiet Room consultations provide general mentorship, career guidance and professional development support only.

2.2 Legal Mixer does not guarantee employment, clerkships, interviews, job offers, academic results, admission outcomes or any other professional or personal result.

2.3 Any outcomes following a consultation remain the sole responsibility of the attendee.

3. Age Requirement

3.1 All attendees must be at least eighteen years of age at the time of the consultation.

3.2 Legal Mixer reserves the right to request proof of age where reasonably necessary.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Cancellation by Attendee

4.1.1 Cancellations made at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled session time are eligible for a refund, less any applicable payment processing fees.

4.1.2 Cancellations made within twenty-four hours of the scheduled session time are non-refundable.

4.1.3 Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice will be treated as a late cancellation and is non-refundable.

4.2 Cancellation by Legal Mixer or Mentor

4.2.1 Where Legal Mixer or a mentor cancels a session due to unforeseen circumstances, the attendee may elect either a full refund or a rescheduled session of equivalent duration.

5. Rescheduling Policy

5.1 An attendee may request to reschedule a booking once at no additional cost, provided the request is made at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled session time.

5.2 Rescheduling requests made within twenty-four hours of the session time will be treated as a late cancellation and will not be eligible for rescheduling or refund.

5.3 Rescheduled sessions are subject to mentor availability, which Legal Mixer does not guarantee.

6. No Legal Advice Disclaimer

6.1 Quiet Room consultations do not constitute legal advice for the purposes of any law or regulation.

6.2 Mentors do not provide legal advice, draft or review legal documents, assess legal risks or act as legal representatives.

6.3 All information shared during sessions is general, educational and career-focused in nature.

6.4 Attendees must seek independent advice from a suitably qualified legal practitioner for any legal issues or decisions.

7. Platform Use and Session Materials

7.1 All bookings, payments, and session administration are conducted through Legal Mixer’s platform and systems.

7.2 Any session materials, summaries or templates provided are for personal development purposes only and must not be redistributed, published or relied upon as legal advice.

8. Amendments

8.1 Legal Mixer may amend this Policy from time to time.

8.2 The version of the Policy published on the Legal Mixer website at the time of booking will apply to that booking.
