LEGAL MIXER – TERMS OF USE (2026)
1. Purpose
1.1 These Terms govern the use of the Service and set out the agreement between You and Us, including each party’s rights and obligations.
1.2 By using the Service, You are deemed to agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
2.1 You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to use our Service.
2.2 You agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and all reasonable behavioural guidelines communicated to You when participating in the Service.
2.3 You do not need to be a lawyer, law student or member of the legal profession to use our Service. You simply need to share our commitment to creating and fostering genuine relationships.
3. Code of Conduct
3.1 By participating in the Service, You agree to conduct Yourself in a manner that ensures a safe, respectful and professional environment for all participants.
3.2 If You act in an unsafe or disruptive manner, We reserve the right to refuse, restrict or exclude You from the Service (current or future) without refund, compensation or explanation.
3.3 Respectful Behaviour
3.3.1 You must treat participants, attendees, venue staff and all others present with respect and professionalism.
3.3.2 Harassment, threats or intimidating behaviour of any kind are strictly prohibited.
3.3.3 Discriminatory conduct or comments based on age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability or sexual orientation will not be tolerated.
3.4 Substance Abuse
3.4.1 Alcohol consumption must be responsible and within legal limits. You are solely responsible for any consequences arising from alcohol consumption and must comply with venue directions.
3.4.2 If You exhibit signs of intoxication that pose a risk to Yourself or others, You may be asked to leave immediately and Services may be terminated without refund.
3.4.3 The use, possession or distribution of illicit drugs during the Service is strictly prohibited.
3.5 Violence and Aggression
3.5.1 Physical violence, aggressive behaviour or damage to property is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal.
3.6 In the event of an actual or suspected breach of this Term, We may remove or restrict Your participation, notify authorities or take legal action. You indemnify Us for all losses arising from Your breach.
4. Medical Fitness
4.1 You confirm that You are medically fit to participate in the Service, including any recreational activities. This includes consideration of:
4.1.1 serious medical conditions;
4.1.2 recent surgeries;
4.1.3 severe allergies or dietary restrictions; and
4.1.4 pregnancy or other conditions requiring precautions.
4.2 You may be excluded from the Service if deemed medically unsuitable.
4.3 You acknowledge that recreational activities involve inherent risks, including injury, death, mental harm or property damage.
4.4 If unsure of Your fitness, You must notify Us in writing. We do not provide medical advice and encourage You to seek independent medical guidance.
4.5 No Liability
4.5.1 We are not liable for injuries or health complications arising from undisclosed conditions.
4.5.2 Where third-party waivers are required, You must review and sign them. Refusal may result in denial of Service.
4.5.3 To the extent permitted by law, liability for death or personal injury in recreational activities is excluded pursuant to section 139A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
4.6 Refund Policy
4.6.1 Refunds may be requested at least seven (7) days prior to the Service unless otherwise stated.
4.6.2 Refunds within seven (7) days are subject to supporting documentation and Our discretion.
4.7 By participating, You confirm Your understanding and acceptance of this Term.
5. Personal Property
5.1 You are responsible for Your personal property. We exclude liability for loss or damage to property to the extent permitted by law.
6. Rights of Supplier
6.1 We may refuse or deny attendance before or during the Service. Where refusal occurs prior to commencement, ticket costs (excluding fees) will be refunded.
6.2 We may change venue locations within reasonable proximity due to unforeseen circumstances.
6.3 We may postpone or cancel Services due to circumstances beyond our control, with rescheduling or refunds at Our discretion.
6.4 Promotional discounts may be offered and cannot be applied retrospectively.
7. Third Parties
7.1 The Service may include third-party activities.
7.2 Participation may require acceptance of third-party terms. Refusal may result in suspension or termination.
7.3 We are not liable for third-party acts, omissions or service quality.
8. Limited Liability
8.1 To the extent permitted by law, Our liability is limited to the amount paid by You for the Service.
9. Excluded Services
9.1 Social interactions outside organised Services are excluded and undertaken at Your own risk.
10. Conduct of Volunteers
10.1 Volunteers are not professionals and You must not rely on advice given by them unless expressly authorised by Us.
11. Intellectual Property
11.1 All content, trademarks and materials are protected by law and may not be used without permission.
12. Media Release
12.1 You grant Us permission to use Your image and likeness for promotional purposes unless You opt out in writing prior to the Service.
13. General
13.1 Governing Law: New South Wales, Australia.
13.2 Severability applies where provisions are unenforceable.
13.3 Assignment requires Our consent.
13.4 Terms may be varied from time to time.
13.5 Entire Agreement clause applies.
14. Interpretation
14.1–14.8 Interpretation rules apply as set out in this clause.
15. Definitions
15.1 “Loss” has its broad legal meaning.
15.2 “RSA” means Responsible Service of Alcohol.
15.3 “Service” means events organised by Us.
15.4 “We”, “Us”, “Our” means The Legal Mixer (ABN 79 161 803 242).
15.5 “Website” means our authorised domain.
15.6 “You” means the user of the Website and Service.
